The latest
fishing trip on Saturday 6th October 2001, went well despite the
odd heavy shower and having to contend with the muddy bank.
The three of us ( Alan, Dan
and Aidan ) set out for a good days fishing at 7.30am hoping to
get pegs on the Top lake, this we did.
We all settled into fishing
for the day, ending the day with a bag of over 100lb of Carp between
the three of us, using a combination of luncheon meat and pellet
paste, using floats and feeders.
Starting in reverse order was
Dan (3rd) with a bag of 6 Carp (3 Mirrors & 3 Common) weighing
in at 29lb, the biggest being 5-1/2lb. This was Dans first time
out course fishing and had previously only been Sea fishing. Dan
can be seen opposite with some of his catches on the day.
In second place was Alan, with
a bag of 8 Carp (4 common & 4 Mirrors) weighing in at 38lb,
the biggest being 5-1/2lb, and in first place came myself (Aidan)
with a bag of 10 Carp ( 5 Mirrors & 5 Common ) weighing in
at 49-1/2 lb, the biggest being 7lb.
So all in all we had a good
days fishing, the top lake always seems to provide us with a good
catch on the day with Carp averaging weights around the 3lb to
4lb mark.
